The Toughest Pen Around

The X-701 is as tough as they come. With a patent pending pressurized barrel, ability to write in harsh weather conditions, and durable, stainless steel barrel, this will quickly become your go-to every day carry pen.

  • Durable, light weight, stainless steel barrel
  • Anti-reflective matte black finish
  • Patent Pending Pressurized barrel allowing the pen to write on challenging surfaces (extreme angles, upside down) and temperatures ranging from -34 degrees C to 120 degrees C
  • Convenient lanyard loop making it easily attachable to a belt loop, backpack, or climbing gear.
  • Military Grade Drop Tested
  • 5x more durable than everyday plastic pens
  • Refillable with K-refill

The X-701 features a patent pending pressurized barrel, allowing the pen to write upside down and at extreme levels. The X-701’s pressurized barrel is what makes this product unique. Using this refill in other standard pens will not have the same pressurized results.

Due to the pressurized barrel mechanism, some ink blobbing may occur when the pen is left retracted for an extended period of time.

7 reviews for X-701 Ballpoint Retractable Pen

I purchased this pen as a gift for my father who works at an industrial site that handles a lot of chemicals for metal refining. At first I thought the extensive claims were a little far fetched; however, after my father put it through thorough daily trials (including high temperatures, moisture, contaminates, dust… etc. ), he reported back how exceptionally the pen continues to work. It’s been a few months now and the pen is still going strong. The bonus of having a small loop on the end of the pen means my dad has his on a “don’t steal my pen” lanyard. Highly recommended.

I purchased this to be my everyday carry pen to use whenever the issue arises and as an alternative to my Fisher pen. I keep the pen in my front pocket with my wallet and key fob or in my shirt pocket.
After carrying the pen in my pockets for a couple weeks, there are a couple of issues that has come up that I am not happy with. One of the issues that the finish on the pen clip has started to chip away showing the bare metal underneath, but the body of the pen, the finish is still in excellent conditions. The other issue is that the ballpoint collects a lot of lint and I have to clean it off before using it sometimes. Over all I am happy with the purchase just wished that the finish was a bit more durable.

Can I buy this pen with blue ink?

I absolutely love Zebra pens. As I tell people I’m a pen snob. This pen is no exception.
I work in 3 temperature zones, ambient 15-25 degrees, 0-4 degrees and minus 18. The only draw back is the pen starts to freeze in the -18 area and stop working in this zone, I need to go back to the 0-4 and use hot breath to get the pen to work. Other than this issue I love this pen.

This is a must have for those that are hard on their pens. It takes all that is thrown at it. As an hvac tech and having to work in the all weather, it’s been the best pen I’ve owned. The ability to write at any angle is a great bonus. I’m not a fan of the lanyard loop but I’m used to it now. The finish doesn’t last for ever and is coming off but it has created an interesting character for my pen. The tip is made of brass that is now fully exposed and everyone comments on it. The barrel and pocket clip are showing the stainless steel. The grip area and top part are still new looking. Thought I lost it once and broke out a new one I had. It just wasn’t the same. Luckily I was able to find it. You definitely won’t be disappointed with this pen.

As a prepper I’ve been wanting to upgrade my dollar store pens for the last few years and Zebra pens have always been on my mind. Even though I hadn’t throughly checked them out I knew beforehand it was going to be my choice like buying a Leatherman Multitool, you already know it’s high quality. A few days ago I saw this pen and instantly instantly knew this was going to be my new pen. All my gear is matt black and I have been tying and taping a lanyard to my pens since forever and this has a lanyard hole. I bought an original Fischer space pen when they first came out sometime last century, but those pressurized cartridges were probably expensive or hard to find. This pressurized pen is super intelligent. I watched some reviews on youtube and this is a five star rating with everybody and very affordable. I also bought some mechanical pencils for map marking which are perfect and I just now realized they have a built-in eraser, surprize. Think I’m going to get a second one cause two is one and one is none. Very lightweight body, lines a very crisp, perfect density. There was mention of lint in the pen and wearing away of the finish by a previous comment. 30+ years doing carpentry etc. Treat your equipment carefully, problem solved.
